Paranormal Investigation at the MR & NKP Railroad Museum

Join us on October 19th as we return for the eighth time to investigate the paranormal sightings and activities experienced by many down at the Museum.

This year we are joined by our friends with the Ohio Researchers of Banded Spirits (ORBS) as they once again guide you through our cars and buildings using the latest in paranormal investigation equipment and techniques. ORBS is a nationally known and well-regarded paranormal research team that have appeared on many shows, including The Haunted, My Ghost Story, and Haunted History.

This fundraising event will begin at 7 p.m. with an overview of the equipment and breakdown of what to look and listen for during the night’s investigation. Following your briefing, guests will be divided into investigative teams spreading throughout the grounds, buildings and rail cars of the museum. Each team will rotate through every area as the investigation continues.

Please reserve your spots early as this is a very popular event, and we are limited to 30 participants. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. REFUNDS WILL ONLY BE ISSUED IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED.

All proceeds for this event will be used for ongoing restoration projects being carried out at the museum. ORBS is generously donating their time and expertise to benefit our museum.

While the investigation will begin at 7:00 p.m., its ending will be determined by your stamina and the level of activity experienced. We will have coffee, water and light snacks to keep you going throughout the late evening and early morning hours. 

Ride Details

Celebrate the Christmas season with the Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum at the Annual Holiday Train. This event is perfect for young children and family fun. For $7 per rider (convenience fee may apply), you can take a short ride on one of our restored cabooses. These cabooses are heated, comfortable, and fully operational. You’ll be able to experience the same ride as railroaders of a bygone era did when cabooses were on every freight train across America. The ride lasts about 10 minutes, then your family is invited to the dining car. Sit down and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies (included in your ticket price) in our 1927 Nickel Plate Road dining car. Experience what it was like when passenger train travel was more commonplace and eating in the diner was a luxury of the journey. After you’ve enjoyed the diner, Santa Claus will be waiting to meet you in the Monument Station at the museum. Also in the Monument Station, our gift shop will be open for Holiday shopping. We have many railroad related items to choose from including books, DVDs, apparel, toys, memorabilia, collectables, and much more.

ALL TICKETS ARE PRE-SOLD, NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING THE EVENT.

Trains will depart on a set schedule and passengers have the option when purchasing tickets to determine what time their party would like to attend. This will eliminate wait times at the boarding site and provide a more enjoyable experience for passengers. Ticket holders are expected to be at the boarding site before departure time. If you miss your scheduled time, we will attempt to provide space on the train for your party at a later departure time, but space is not guaranteed. Tickets are only valid for the day purchased. Tickets will not be accepted on the wrong day. MR&NKP will not validate tickets sold by a third party, only tickets sold by MR&NKP are authentic.

All riders regardless of age (even infants) must have a ticket to ride. Once you arrive at the boarding site, a ticket agent will be there to assist you. Please provide the name the tickets were purchased under and the number of persons in your party. In the event of technical difficulties, it’s strongly recommended ticketholders be prepared to show proof of purchase, this could be a printed ticket, ticket receipt, screenshot on a mobile device, etc.

Refunds will be considered up until 15 days before the event, after that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If you’d like to request a refund, please email [email protected]. Please do not call the museum.
